of a full-color display to a mass-market audience looking for a balance
between technology and affordability. This new dual band (GSM/GPRS
850/1900 MHz) phone takes full advantage of its 4096-color display
by integrating Java technology for downloadable applications and Multimedia
Messaging Service capability (MMS) for sending and receiving color
images, text and sound. Shipments are expected to begin in spring
2003.
Along with text and multimedia messaging capabilities, the Nokia 3595
phone includes an instant messaging (IM) client, allowing users to
take the fun and utility of their desktop IM experience into their
mobile lives. Desktop IM users will be familiar with powerful features
like presence and chat groups, while compatibility with a number of
existing IM services means that they can stay connected with their
existing IM contact lists. Furthering the ability to take Internet
content mobile, the next-generation XHTML browser provides an enhanced
experience with support for color, radio buttons, check boxes and
improved formatting.
